I began exploring Mendocino with my camera several years ago. Captivated by the well preserved historic charm of the place, I trained the camera primarily on the architectural treasures within Mendocino Village. I was interested in how perfectly the village sat within its natural settings. This place that seemed never to change over the many years of my visits was such a contrast to the over-developed manicured world I came from.
These explorations revealed more clearly a balanced sense of place echoed through landscape and detail. This harmony of light, texture, and color is the magic I find in this place, and is what I have sought to capture in these images.
