While my photographic subjects are eclectic, a thread of continuity runs through all of my work. I find the metaphoric language of the still image complements my way of seeing the world. I work best when I quiet my mind and enter a state of meditative clarity. So postured, I approach my subjects with a new, playful freedom. Spontaneously attracted to a subject, I reflexively compose and shoot. Shot this way, my resultant images are stronger than those I take in a more deliberative approach.
These galleries represent a variety of subjects and approaches, but in all, I strive for a singular, possibly idiosyncratic perspective. Through composition, light and color, I strive to create images that provide a sense of mystery to them and beg a second glance.
